Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, specializes in spinal cord and brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular conditions. Over the past four decades, Shepherd Center has grown from 6 to 152 beds, treating over 8,000 patients annually. To improve the patient and family experience and enhance patient access, the Shepherd Center decided to expand its facilities.
McKenney’s partnered with Choate Construction Company to install mechanical and plumbing systems in the 14-story, state-of-the-art Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation. This new facility includes 6 levels of parking deck and 6 levels of core and shell space. Additionally, the scope of work involved tenant improvement buildouts for three floors of the new Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation, which houses the hospital’s research, innovation, and pain management center.
