McKenney’s leveraged design/build expertise to bring the world-class Anthem Technology Center in Midtown Atlanta to life. 

THE CHALLENGE

McKenney’s was asked to design/build and install an HVAC, plumbing and controls systems for the new 352,000-square-foot Class A office building. Intended to house 3,000 Anthem IT employees, the McKenney’s team needed to quickly grasp the unique density levels and space requirements—while providing maximum flexibility to the owner. 

THE SOLUTION

McKenney’s project management team and a dedicated engineer devised a safe and effective build strategy by using BIM and proven fabrication capabilities. The design featured a simple, efficient and flexible HVAC system comprised of a condenser water system and SCU air conditioning equipment. To work within the confines of a tight city block, the team used trailer lifts for safe, efficient material handling and delivered all material and equipment just in time (JIT). 

THE RESULTS

The project met the owner’s high expectations and McKenney’s has been contracted to build out the interior spaces and provide preventative maintenance.
