The holidays are in full swing, and although many of this year’s celebrations may look different than in years past, one thing remains the same: our dedication to CARE as a company and as individuals. Throughout the year, we have witnessed the true character, grit and compassion of our amazing employees and their families as we have all faced challenges head-on.
On our campuses, at job sites and in each of our own daily routines, we have stepped up to CARE for others and support our communities in new ways—from going above and beyond for a customer to volunteering virtually to contributing financially to causes close to our hearts. This year has underscored the fact that CARE is not simply one of our company values but is truly part of our DNA and what makes our company a best place to work.
At McKenney’s, we believe that CARE is something that should be passed along, starting with our employees, continuing to our customers and reaching its full potential when we act together as a community to make a difference.
- CARE begins on our campuses and our jobsites where we aim to create a place where employees enjoy their work, respect each other and receive the utmost consideration. This has been the driving force behind many of decisions and actions taken this year to protect the health and safety of our employees and their families, including the opportunity to work from home and upgrades to the deli and gym at our Atlanta campus.
- By having a caring company supporting us, we are able to pass along the value of CARE to our customers. We take time to understand each customer’s unique needs and goals, and we do everything in our power to provide the best services and results while maintaining a high level of integrity. Because of this, we are fortunate to having caring, long-term customers who treat us as partners and value our commitment.
- To better CARE of our employees and our customers, it is important to support the communities where we live and work. We are dedicated to tending to the needs of our communities, and we encourage our employees to find causes close to their hearts and get involved. Some of these causes include United Way of Greater Atlanta, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Levine Children’s Hospital, Empty Stocking Fund, Operation Christmas Child, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Bobby Dodd Institute and various 5K races.
Hear from a few of our employees on how CARE has shaped their workplace:
“It’s been incredible to see how everyone has come together and demonstrated how much they genuinely CARE about Levine Children’s Hospital through an outpouring of participation in fundraising and charitable donations. For me, the value of CARE is that feeling of being surrounded by a second family when you come to work each day.”
—Kelly Robinson, Carolinas Critical Systems
“McKenney’s is known for helping people and providing for families, and this is the theme of our 2020 campaign: Hope 2020. As you know, McKenney’s has chosen for years to partner with United Way, because it truly has something that everyone can rally around supporting. It is exciting to see how our McKenney’s family has already given, and I choose to believe that we will hit our goal and truly provide that hope that so many people need. I look forward to great things.”
—Stephen Johnson, Automation & Control Solutions
“McKenney’s culture is defined by employees who CARE—about each other, about the work that we do and about the communities in which we live. This environment is so special and makes me thankful to have found a place where showing that you CARE is valued. In a year like 2020, when we have been so fortunate and many others have not, I think the 5K for Kindness resonated with people and gave them an option to help the charities we normally support, whose need is greater than ever right now.”
—Stephanie Killen, Human Resources
Thank you to everyone who came together with big hearts to provide CARE and hope for people in our communities.
Please stay safe and healthy this holiday season!
