McKenney’s installed highly secure turnstiles at a major telecommunications company’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Challenge
Passive, bollard-style turnstiles in the main elevator lobby were not able to effectively stop unauthorized personnel from getting to executive floors. A more secure solution was required and the owner allotted only 14 evening and weekend hours to complete the demo and installation.
The Solution
With no time for missteps and an eye toward safeguarding company employees, the team removed the old turnstiles and associated wiring. Next, the floor was X-rayed for existing conduits where the new turnstiles would be placed and new holes were cored for power and access control cabling. Anchor holes in two inch thick granite were then drilled for mounting brackets and the new barricade-style turnstiles were installed, tested and activated.
The Results
Amazed by the quality of work and the McKenney’s team’s adherence to the tight timeline, the company can now monitor the employees that have access to the executive floors having deployed the highly secure turnstiles in its executive buildings nationwide.
